Pregnancy #2 Update

At around 30 weeks along, my fundal height was measuring a few weeks too small so my doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure the baby's growth wasn't being restricted in any way. Needless to say, I was worried, but something in me just felt like everything was okay. Barrett was a small baby and my doctor said usually girls are even smaller than their brothers at birth, so we were staying positive that everything was going to be okay. After waiting an entire week, we found out she was perfectly fine and measuring in the 33rd percentile. Perfect!

At 35 weeks, I had another ultrasound and she dropped into the 15th percentile. I had to do a non stress test to make sure everything was okay, and we were once again given great results. We are going to have a small, healthy baby :)

I am now 38 weeks and SO ready for her to make her appearance. I'm dilated to a 2, 50% effaced, and have another appointment in a couple of days. She has been more active the last week and a half than she has been the whole pregnancy. I guess she's getting just as excited as we are for her birthday!

I had a natural birth with Barrett and still cherish the whole experience, so it was an easy decision to have a natural birth with this one as well. I got extremely lucky and just happened to get a nurse who was studying to be a midwife. She helped me get through the worst parts of natural labor and was a huge blessing for me, Steven, and Barrett that day. The last month I've been getting very nervous about getting a nurse who may push an epidural on me in my weakest moments, or just not have the time to help in the way I want. The hospital I'm at this time around is bigger and the nurses don't have as much time to spend with each patient. We made the decision to hire a doula this time around, and I'm already feeling better. We had our prenatal appointment this morning at our house to go over details and exercises that will help ease labor pains. My hope is I can go into labor naturally and have an easier experience than I did with being induced. We will find out soon :)

Zoey's Baby Shower

My best friends, cousins, and sisters threw me a super cute and girly baby shower back in November. They chose a pink and gray color scheme matching her nursery and they did an amazing job! It was small, sweet, and exactly what I wanted to celebrate my baby girl. I'm so grateful to have these girls as best friends who put so much time into making this day special.

Colorado & 16 Weeks

My oldest friend, Taylor, lives in Denver and got married in the mountains the last weekend in August. We took a couples trip and had an amazing weekend! We stayed downtown Denver the first night then headed to the mountains and stayed in a cute three bedroom cabin in Granby the rest of the weekend. We walked out of our cabin to get on the ski lift and rode to the top of the mountain for the most gorgeous ceremony. We rode the ski lift back down to the lodge for the reception which was also right by our cabin. My favorite part was watching the bride and groom together during the ceremony. You could feel how much they love each other and I'm so happy I was there to witness such a beautiful moment.

Here are some pictures capturing our unforgettable weekend!

Meeting up with my college roommate was such a treat! We had not seen each other in over five years!

I just love him. Going downtown to pick out rare craft beer he can only get in Denver. Yes, he brought an extra bag just for this.

There are no words to describe the deliciousness of this place. Denver Biscuit Company is a must have!

The gorgeous rehearsal dinner location in Granby

Cheesy, but I love it.

Having a sweet little moment being excited about my baby girl. I was feeling a little left out and jealous of everyone indulging on their yummy cocktails and wine, but then I looked down and couldn't help but smile.
THIS. This night started with this little dance in our kitchen and it only got better from here. We had a blast!

Pregnancy #2: August

Weeks 12- 15: Still feeling very tired and super anxious to find out if it's a boy or girl. I go back and forth, but my guess is boy. No maternity clothes yet, but there's definitely a little pooch! I haven't gotten the second trimester energy boost, so I've kind of felt like a zombie all Summer long. My favorite part of this pregnancy so far is how much Barrett loves to look at my belly. He asks to kiss the baby and tell it goodnight.

I missed baby bump pictures for week 14 and 15. Week 15 was Barrett's third birthday so we were busy having too much fun.

The strangest thing happened at my Dad's house one weekend. I had been thinking of Steven's mom who passed away when he was eight years old. I never got to meet her and often think about how someone who would have been such a big part of our lives is not here. She popped into my thoughts and I never said anything about it out loud. In fact, I'm not sure if we've ever really talked about her in front of Barrett. Out of nowhere, Barrett looked at me and said "Is that Daddy's Mommy?" I asked him what he was talking about and he asked again and pointed. I asked him where and he ran up to me and said "Right there" and touched my belly...

Pregnancy #2: July

This pregnancy has been quite a bit different than the first. With Barrett, I never felt any physical symptoms of being pregnant until I started showing...which was over half-way through the pregnancy. This time around, I have been nauseous, way more moody, and even more tired. It really hasn't been too bad, it's just different.

I'm finally documenting my baby bump because I think it will be fun to compare with last pregnancy.

First belly picture at 9 weeks. Not really showing, but feeling very bloated. I actually felt bloated a few days before I found out and couldn't figure out why my stomach was feeling that way.

10 weeks: Barrett loves touching my belly and saying hi to the baby. I feel so different than I did at this point with Barrett. I FEEL pregnant. Moody, hungry, and exhausted all day long. Looking forward to getting a real bump :)

Here We Go Again!

We have been talking about adding to our family for a while and decided we were going to start trying this Summer. Maybe June, or possibly August after our trip to Colorado for one of my best friend's wedding. On June 8th, we were having our normal Monday "free nights" where we indulge in our guilty pleasures....Steven's is video games, mine is reality tv. Steven poured me a glass of wine and for some reason I felt the need to take a pregnancy test. I secretly took one and was in total shock when the word PREGNANT appeared on the tiny screen. I waited until the next day to tell Steven because I wanted it on camera and needed time. I was nervous the whole day and when I finally told him, we both cried happy tears. Baby #2 was ready and will be here before we know it! Our sweet little Valentine's baby is due February 13, 2016!
