Smiling!

A couple of weeks before she turned two months old, she started smiling at me. She has made little smirks and smiled in her sleep, but she finally looked right into my eyes and smiled purposefully at ME! If you are a parent, you know this is one of the best milestones to experience. It signifies happiness, love, health, and also gives you the reassurance you need during the monotony of changing diapers and waking up through the night. Waiting so long to have another has made these experiences feel new and I've kind of forgotten the sense of pride you feel with something as simple as a smile.

These first three pictures were taken during one of her very early morning feedings. I was so tired, but there was a little sparkle in her eye that made me get my phone out to take pictures. It's like she was telling me she was about to give me this gift of smiling so I could capture it on camera. These pictures crack me up every time I look at them! That smile!

This was a rare moment when Barrett was quietly playing with his toys in the living room while Zoey slept in my lap.

The faces I get every time we talk :)

She's getting very expressive.

This little smile melts my heart!
