Two Month Check-Up

Zoey is a healthy two month old and quite a bit different than her brother. She is a little less than average in both weight and height. Barrett was always way above average in height and way less than average for weight. She had her first vaccines and it absolutely broke my heart. Her cry was so loud and I guess since she never cries that hard it took me by surprise. I immediately started crying and it took us both a while to calm down. Sweet baby girl did not like feeling those needles! I had already explained to Barrett what was going to happen and he cracked us all up when the doctor was asking him about Zoey's shots. He told him this was not his doctor appointment and was quick to say that Zoey gets the shots...not him. He was very loving and protective through the appointment (even though he totally sold her out!). The biggest surprise was finding out she has a birthmark on her arm. I was convinced it was the same little mark Barrett had on his leg for a while when he was a baby from his first shot in the hospital. Apparently, babies don't get shots in their arms so I was completely wrong. She has a blue nevus on her upper right arm and it has grown since birth. The doctor said he wasn't worried because it wasn't raised at all, so hopefully it won't grow anymore. Even though it might bother her a little when she's older, I secretly love her special little mark :)

She fussed for a second so Barrett wanted to give her a paci

She didn't really want it

Her birthmark that looks like a bruise. It looked like a pen mark when she was born.
