Halloween 2014

One of the worst holiday memories for me is Halloween day, last year. Steven worked 9-9 and every. single. thing. went wrong. I was absolutely determined to make up for last year and have a great day, and I can happily report that Halloween 2014 was one of the best days ever! Steven's truck did break down that morning, but we embraced it and were excited to drive him to work and go in to Kroger to get Starbucks (Sophie even got to ride in the bottom of the stroller).
I am obsessed with Tim Burton movies and it's a must to watch Nightmare Before Christmas around Halloween. We went straight home to start it and I was so excited watching Barrett get in to this movie. He sang "this is Halloween" all day! Mid movie we got ready and headed to Barnes & Noble for story time and trick-or-treating. We met one of Barrett's friends from school and his mom and had a great time. Barrett and his friend definitely knocked over the story time sign and I carried Barrett to the train table to avoid any other embarrassing moments. He had a blast playing with the trains and we ended the outing with cookies. We left the mall to head to Kroger to bring cookies to Daddy and his employees and trick-or-treat at the pharmacy.
After an adventurous morning, we finally came home so Barrett could rest up for a night of trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We had the best time time walking around going to all the houses. All the kids loved Barrett's Olaf costume and he loved all the attention. He said trick-or-treat and thank you to everyone and would only take one piece of candy even when he was given a handful. He would hand it to me to open immediately. My favorite part of the night was Barrett saying "Happy Halloween!" to all of the people we talked to while trick-or-treating. This was the first year for him to be interested in Halloween and I think it will only get better and better. This little Olaf completely melted my heart!

We stayed up late watching Nightmare Before Christmas again. Barrett slept in our bed and I LOVED it! Perfect day!
