Six Month Stats
He is still a tall and skinny baby boy! I had a lot of questions at this appointment (as usual) and as always our doctor (Dr. Goff) made me feel perfectly at ease. Here is my list of questions...I'm kind of embarrassed that this one is actually short compared to the past ones. Thank goodness our doctor always reassures me there are no stupid questions!
Weight: 16.7 pounds (29th percentile)
Height: 27 1/2 inches (87th percentile)
His six month appointment was great (minus the vaccine shots). Here are the questions (and our answers) our pediatrician asked about his development.
Is he sitting up with at least some support? Yes. Can almost sit up by himself, but still needs our support.
Does he have any interest in his feet/toes? We can't keep his toes out of his mouth! He's been fascinated for a couple of months now.
How many hours will he go at night without a bottle? The most he has gone is 12, but 9-10 is the most he will go lately.
During the check-up he handed him a stick (I'm guessing to see if he would grasp it) and Barrett grabbed it and threw it to the side...stinker.
The funniest thing that happened was when the our doctor tried to look in his ears. Barrett was red-faced and screaming (He is not a fan of strangers or being on his back, especially not when this stranger is poking all over him). He was kicking and pushing Dr. Goff and I warned him that he was really strong and he looked at me like "Oh, don't worry I do this all the time" and "He's just a tiny baby (29th percentile for weight)" Barrett then proceeded to push and kick himself and our doctor to the other side of the table. Our doctor looked at us in surprise with a "Whoa! He is strong!" Steven and I just laughed and gave each other that look of knowing we have our hands full! Oh man, I love that little boy!
After his check-up we went to Chipotle and Barrett passed out just in time for us to enjoy our food. I love these family outing days! We feel very lucky to have a healthy and happy six month old!
