I have always been a sucker for Valentine's Day. I love being in love and I love that there is a holiday dedicated to love. I realize that there are some anti-Valentine's Day people out there because they think the meaning behind Valentine's gifts are superficial. I think Valentine's Day (and everything else for that matter) is what you make it, so I choose to make it meaningful. Of course you should show your significant other that you love them on a regular basis, but why not embrace the holiday and make it special in your own way? Well this year Steven completely outdid himself! He told me a couple weeks ago that he had something planned for the Saturday night before Valentine's Day but he wouldn't tell me anything else. So Saturday came and he surprised me with amazing tickets to the Dallas Mavericks basketball game!!! I couldn't have picked a better gift for myself! I like most all sports but basketball has a special place in my heart. I have played basketball my whole life and went to Mavs games growing up. We live in Louisiana right now and this state will not play Texas sports if they don't have to so we have missed so many of the games. We were sitting second row right behind the Mavs and we could even hear Rick Carlisle calling the plays and subbing in players. I know this may not sound like a romantic night, but when we got to our seats I literally had to hold back tears because I was so happy. It was a perfect surprise and I am very grateful to have such a sweet hubby!
