Growing Up Fast

Zoey is reaching physical milestones much faster than Barrett and it's blowing my mind! Apparently this is normal for girls and especially true for younger siblings because they are trying to keep up.

We went to my sister's house a few weekends ago to swim because it was supposed to be the last weekend hot enough to swim. Even though it's STILL hot enough to swim in October, we swam and cooked out like it was our last chance! My sister put Zoey down for a nap and Barrett is finally old enough and brave enough to swim so I was actually able to relax for most of the time and have fun. My nephew Logan is a little fish and can swim without a life jacket, so it was a blast hanging out with these two in the pool. Steven came over once he got off work and we hung out with Zoey while my sister gave the boys a bath. I was in the bathroom talking to my sister and the boys when I heard Steven yelling for me. Zoey pulled herself up to her feet all by herself!! Barrett pulled himself up for the first time at nine months old, and little mis Zoey was seven months and a week! Steven got to see BOTH of them pull up their first times while I missed it and I'm with them 24/7!!! I'm happy that he got to experience these milestones though because he feels like he misses out on a lot working so much. He would gladly trade me places and be a stay at home dad in a heartbeat...and if I'm being honest, there are a lot of days I would trade him as well! HOW did I get so lucky to have this amazing man as the father of my babies?

After this, there was no turning back or slowing down. Her sleep has become TERRIBLE since this milestone, but her personality is really starting to show. We think she may be more of a firecracker than we thought. At six months, she was doing push-ups and holding it up like a plank. At seven months, she was pulling up to her feet. At seven and a half months she was pulling up to her feet and standing without holding onto anything. She crawls fast any chance she gets and loves to practice standing without holding on. Walking is coming fast and we are ready! Go baby go!

Our little play pen we set up every day in the living room once she started scooting around to the hard wood floors and non baby proofed places in the house. This worked for a few weeks, and she loved scooting to the big pillows that helped her stand up.

This is how she feels about sleeping in her crib. Little princess just wants to be around Mommy or Daddy.
