Weekend Fun

We enjoyed every second of Steven's weekend off. Friday evening we went to Grapevine to do a little shopping and take our little man out to eat. We wanted to try something new, so we went next door from our favorite restaurant to Fireside Pies. The food was good, Barrett was perfectly happy, and our waitress was the sweetest! Right when we slid in the booth, Barrett stuck his hand in the lit candle holder and burned his finger! He wanted me immediately and cried into my shoulder. Our waitress came over to talk to him and gave him an adorable fabric crayon holder and brought him paper to color. He asked me to kiss his finger and wanted to go sit back with Daddy to eat and color. When we checked out, our waitress asked him to come help her. Our social butterfly was in heaven!

After dinner, we went to the mall for Barrett's first Build-A-Bear experience. He was most interested in pushing the buttons and listening to all the music options you can put in your "bear". He was excited to see Frozen characters so we picked Olaf. After he was made, Barrett picked a basketball, football, and sport cleats for his new friend. I was not surprised at all that he picked shoes, and I think he was a little upset that the shoes wouldn't fit his own feet. The whole thing really was sweet and he left happy with his sporty Olaf. We strolled by the Carousel on the way and of course he didn't forget about it when we were trying to leave, so he convinced us to go ride it a couple of times. We also got cookies and a smoothie for B.

I think date nights for just the two of us are a necessity because the parents' relationship is the foundation, but these nights with our guy are so incredibly special. These nights also make me very excited to add another little one to the mix. For now, I will treasure our time with our one and only :)
