Grandaddy & Nana
Steven's Nana passed away a couple of weeks ago. This news was devastating to our family and to everyone who knew her. She was truly the nicest, most caring person. She made us feel instantly comfortable every time we visited and I could just feel the love she had for us. She loved pictures and would always show me all of her albums full of family. She had an album of all the pictures we had sent of Barrett. She loved him and it is heartbreaking that he will not grow up going to visit her. She always had her fingernails and toenails painted, her dogs were her babies, and she loved her Precious Moments collection. One thing that always stood out to me when was how proud she was of her marriage. They loved each other more than anything. We spent the day with Steven's family, and Barrett's sweet innocence throughout the funeral and the whole day helped us smile through the tears. In the middle of the funeral a woman sang a song to honor Nana. Everyone was silent and Barrett stood up and yelled "YAY!!!" right after she sang. This innocent little two-year-old put a much needed smile on everyone's faces. I think Nana was looking down and smiling.
