4th of July

4th of July Eve we went downtown to eat at one of the best little burger restaurants. This is one of our favorite places to take Barrett because the food is great and they play loud music...food + music = Barrett's happy place. We had our own little fireworks show in our backyard afterwards, and Barrett did not like it at all. He kept saying "No boom boom!" He begged to go night night, so we enjoyed the fireworks with just the two of us. On the 4th, I celebrated while Barrett napped with pool time, a mini champagne, and finally reading Ellen's book. I love to lay out and read and rarely make time for it anymore, so to say this was amazing is an understatement. Steven got off work right when Barrett woke up from his nap so we spent the rest of the holiday swimming, cooking out and dancing with Barrett. I would be totally okay if every weekend was spent just like this one.

He found my book and was so excited about seeing Ellen. He couldn't stop talking about the Ellen book. 

S'mores...not a bad way to end the night.
