A Few Weekends Ago...

We took Barrett to the mall to shop, make a "Build-A-Bear" for the first time, and eat at Rainforest Cafe. He surprisingly had no interest in making a stuffed animal; he only wanted to play with the computers, so we left to go have an earlier dinner. A year ago, we would have never taken him to a place like Rainforest Cafe because he would have for sure had major anxiety about the "storms" and loud noises, but he gets more calm and relaxed the older he gets. He actually liked it until halfway through the first storm when he spotted a lifelike gorilla moving around. I could see the worry in his face and he wanted to sit in Daddy's lap. He was totally fine, but just wanted comfort. He ended up in my lap for about ten minutes, then got over it and enjoyed the rest of the experience. He is a complete sweetheart! After dinner, we went to sit by the lake to watch fireworks. I love these quality nights with my boys.

Steven couldn't get out of this one. We strolled through the mall like this for quite a while. So sweet!

Barrett insisted on sitting in his stroller instead of the high chair.
