Lately

Life has been very different around here lately! I started back to school and it has proven to be way more challenging as a mom. It feels good to finally take a step to further my goals though, so I know I am making the right decision, and I still am able to spend most of my week being a mommy. Honestly, I am getting a taste of the excitement that Steven gets to feel when Barrett is so excited to see him after a long day of work and it feels GOOD! We were together 24/7 up until a few weeks ago and since I have started school, he has become even more attached to me and I love it! My sister watches him while I am in class and he will actually say MaMa or Mommy and look for me. I think it's the sweetest thing because I've only ever heard him beg for DaDa and now it's always Mommy! I tear up at least a few times a week when he says Mommy. I just cannot believe how much love I feel for this boy.

We also started Barrett in swim lessons this week. As expected, it did not go well, but I know once my little bear warms up to this new experience he will be just fine. Even though he cried quite a bit, he actually did a lot better than I anticipated. There was another little boy his age who cried even more than Barrett, but I think I'm the only one who even noticed the other boy because Barrett's cry was 10 times louder and I am not exaggerating at all. This boy has a powerful set of lungs! My main concern was upsetting the other babies or moms in the class, but everyone was really nice and I'm actually looking forward to the next lesson.

This is the only picture I got before our swim orientation. He is wearing his cousin's swimsuit that he actually wore last Summer. I think he looks a little like my brother in this picture.

These are pictures I took the morning of his first swim lesson. I cannot wait to look back on this post when he is swimming like a fearless fish with complete security in his knowledge of water safety.
