Nine Months!

I have completely neglected my blog lately because we have been going nonstop the last few weeks. Here is his nine month post that I wrote the day he turned nine months. I will post his pics tomorrow and hopefully a lot more blogging will happen soon.

Age:  Nine Months
Weight: 19.1 pounds 42nd percentile
Height: 67th percentile
Eye color: Mostly brown, some dark green
Clothes: 6-12 months
Diapers: Size four Pampers Cruisers
Milestones: Pulling up on his feet has become a constant thing around here. He has also become more content playing by himself. He will just crawl around playing with his toys and look up and smile then keep going on playing. His two bottom teeth have finally popped through. He sits up now without any support and has become so independent while playing. We have been trying to get him to repeat words and sounds and his favorite thing to repeat is coughing. He has been fake coughing for a long time now to get our attention and now if we cough he immediately copies us. It is so cute! He mainly says gaga and dada...still no mama but I know it's coming soon! He is now sitting in highchairs at restaurants and in the front of the shopping cart and he is loving it. Sleeping:  Sleeping through the night but has been waking up at 5:30 the last week.
Eating: Still mostly on formula. He has one vegetable at night and has had bananas twice. He is not quite sure about them.
Activities: Playing all day long! The only time he wants to just sit in my lap calmly is right after he wakes up from naps while he drinks a bottle. He is a busy little guy and gets upset when he is too tired to play anymore. He loves all toys, especially if I get one out he hasn't seen in a while. He likes to hold two toys and bang them together. He also loves to crawl to the wood floors and bang his hands on them.
Favorite things: He is such a happy baby it seems like everything is his favorite thing. I guess one thing that stands out more this month is his fascination with ceiling fans. He will lean his head back and move it around trying to keep up with the fans. He will also walk in our office in his walker to look at the fan. One of our favorite things to do is go out to eat and sit on the patio somewhere. He loves being outside so we can all enjoy a family date out now and not worry that Barrett will get upset. Just put this boy outside and he is happy. We will definitely have to put a little outdoor playground in our backyard when he gets a little older.
Teething: Barrett has really been great through his teething so far. We had one bad night about a week ago and it broke my heart. He was so upset and could not fall asleep. We normally just lay him in his crib after his bottle and he will put himself to sleep. He cried and cried and I could tell it wasn't a normal cry. I rocked him, tried to give him another bottle and he just hugged me and cried on my chest. I had tears in my eyes and felt so helpless. He finally gave in and fell asleep and I held him for almost an hour. I hated that he was so uncomfortable, but snuggling my sleeping baby on my chest was the best feeling in the world.
