Height:
Eye color: They look mostly brown now with some dark green.
Clothes: He has grown a lot this month. He is wearing 6 -9 months now. His favorite Gap jeans are 3-6 months though.
Diapers: Size three still fits him the best, but we have been using fours as well.
Milestones: Still trying to crawl, but not there yet. He also sits up and plays by himself but will tip over, so he's not officially sitting up alone. Still no mama or dada, but he makes this sound constantly that starts with a G. It's pretty funny when he thinks he's talking. He has also started spitting and sticking his tongue out and making toot noises- apparently this is called making raspberries. He will do it with his paci still in his mouth sometimes and just kind of hold it to the side of his mouth. He loves his paci! He has been reaching for things for a while now, but it's on a whole different level now. He wants EVERYTHING in his hands so that he can put it in his mouth. When I put him in the car seat he will now sit up and reach for things in the seats beside him. It's more of a challenge to get him to sit back so I can buckle him in. Still no teeth!
Sleeping: Barrett is officially sleeping upstairs in his own room! It's actually been a great transition. I was afraid it was going to be terrible having to go upstairs to do everything instead of right in our room, but it's really nice to have our room to ourselves and have a designated place for all of our baby routines. We are also getting a lot of use out of the glider/recliner we paid so much money for and it's wonderful! His sleeping regressed when we moved him, but it's starting to get back on track. We let him fuss it out now and try not to feed him at all during the night. Last night he went 12 hours without eating or being picked up. He still wakes up a couple of times during the night but we just let him put himself back to sleep. It's definitely the hardest part, but I know it will pay off and be better for all of us.
Eating: We have given him sweet potatoes a few more times and he really likes them now. He will lunge forward with his mouth open to try and get more and he always wants to grab the spoon. He also likes butternut squash and corn. He hates green beans. He actually made a gagging noise when he tried them. I never knew eating from a spoon could be so adorable.
Activities: Singing, tickling, rolling around, jumping in his jumperoo, and standing on his play mat holding onto his mobile are daily activities in this house. We try to read him books everyday but he has to be in the right mood to enjoy them; otherwise, we only get about halfway through before he gets aggravated. He has also started to use his walker and he seems to like it. That is usually what we use while in the kitchen. I have learned this month that he is always happy when we are outdoors. We went to Home Depot with my dad and Barrett started crying for no reason and nothing I did would make him stop. The minute we got outside he was calm. The same thing happened when we went to Target. He loves stroller rides and listening to people talk. Sometimes when he is fussy I'll call Steven or someone else if he is at work and put them on speaker. Barrett will always stop and just listen. He is also usually content riding in his carseat and likes to take naps while I'm driving.
Favorite things: Being tickled, taking a bath, being held, playing "I'm gonna get you" with mommy and daddy, being carried up and down the stairs, strolling outside, music, looking in the mirror, and stuffed animals (particularly his monkey and lamby). I know that is a lot of favorites, but he gets very excited about it all. He is such a happy little guy! Right now my favorite thing is just spending time with him. I am going to be applying for jobs soon, so these days at home are becoming more and more precious.
