Two Months

My happy little Barrett bear.

Picture time!

Getting sleepy and rubbing his eyes.

And nap time for Barrett and Sophie...he was falling asleep in the middle of his photo shoot.

Age:  Two months
Weight: 11 pounds 10 oz 33rd percentile
Height: 23 3/4 inches 79th percentile
Head Circumference: 40 cm 74th percentileEye color: Still blueish gray
Clothes: He has officially grown out of his newborn pajamas and it makes me sad. He is wearing 0-3 months and they are a little big, but they fit him better and better everyday.
Diapers: Size one
Milestones: The biggest change this month has been his "talking". He will make all kinds of noises and I know he is just trying so hard to communicate with us. Sometimes in the morning he will just lay in his nap nanny and talk to himself. He does something that I call a cry/talk. He will make noises and fuss at the same time...he's not really fussy, but not smiling. When he was four weeks old he rolled over from his tummy to his side and just the other day he was on his back and rolled onto his side! I can't believe how strong he is! He really doesn't like tummy time. After about 10 minutes he has had enough and will get really mad. He's fine laying on his tummy on my chest, and he will hold his head up and push up with his arms, but not when he is flat. He also had his first blowout at 6 weeks and has had about three total...this counts as a milestone right? haha a seriously gross milestone! I've noticed this month that he can hold a lot of weight on his legs. I will just hold onto his hands and he can hold his body weight on his legs! I knew this little guy was going to be strong because he was constantly kicking and punching throughout the whole pregnancy. He is starting to really study his hands. I will catch him with the most serious face just trying to figure out what his hands are for. Oh how the smallest things just make me smile now.
Sleeping:  The last couple of weeks Barrett has finally started sleeping more than 2-3 hours at a time! He is now sleeping about 5 hours at a time. One night he and I both slept for six hours straight and I almost cried I was so happy! He is still sleeping in our room in his nap nanny in the co-sleeper. We put him in his crib one night; he fell right to sleep and I cried. He woke up about two hours later though and I brought him back into our room. We are going to try and get him in his crib soon though.
Eating: At six weeks old we started supplementing with formula. He has had tummy issues since he was born so we have been trying different things to relieve some of his constant straining. I eliminated all dairy out of my diet, but it didn't change anything. We had him solely on formula, and he seemed to feel a little better. As of now he is on both breast milk and formula. Breast feeding is so much better now, so we are going to stick with what we are doing now.
Activities: We finally bought a play mat for him with a music mobile and he loves it! In the mornings after he eats he will lay on this and watch the mobile, kick his legs, and play. He also loves to take a nap in his mommaroo swing.
Favorite things: I think his favorite things are still eating and being snuggled. He also really loves his swing. He really is a pretty good baby, but when he does get fussy the swing always soothes him. He also loves getting his diaper changed. Our favorite thing is right after he gets his diaper changed he loves to lay on his changing pad and smile and talk. He is the sweetest little guy and I am just trying to soak up every minute with him.
